La banda finlandesa de metal progresivo alternativo Somehow Jo ha lanzado un nuevo sencillo titulado ‘Road To Nowhere’, publicado en colaboración con Inverse Records tras un paréntesis de cuatro años sin editar música.
Sobre este lanzamiento, la banda comentó: “After a long and arduous journey through the dark forest of the soul, we are releasing our new song Road to Nowhere. The single represents the dark and brooding feelings we went through as a band and as individuals. The survival of the group was not a foregone conclusion, as our flame was nearly snuffed out by the howling winds. With a period of soul-searching behind us and a new member now part of the band, the light is finally shining at the end of the tunnel. We wanted to encapsulate the essence of our struggle in this hard-hitting and cathartically purifying piece of music. Those who have been on a road to nowhere will surely know what we are talking about. Have a taste of our best rockmanship yet!”.
El grupo se fundó en Ylöjärvi, Finlandia, en 2009. Su discografía incluye el álbum debut Satans of Swing en 2015 a través de Inverse Records, con la participación de la vocalista Noora Louhimo de Battle Beast en la canción principal. Su segundo disco, TUSK, vio la luz el 22 de noviembre de 2019, destacando el tema “The Grey”, el cual superó las 500.000 reproducciones en Spotify y formó parte de su lista oficial Prog Rock. Posteriormente, su tercer álbum, SCALES AND DETAILS, se publicó el 16 de septiembre de 2022 mediante el mismo sello, del cual se extrajeron los videos musicales de los temas “Friend”, “Fata Morgana” y “Rush”.

El sencillo ‘Road To Nowhere’ cuenta con la composición de Sakari Karjalainen, Eero Aaltonen, Christian Sauren, Tuomas Honkkila y Lassi Peiponen, mientras que la letra fue escrita por Eero Aaltonen. En la producción participó Juha Nevala, con Matti Lötjönen en la mezcla y Jaakko Viitalähde en la masterización. La portada fue realizada por Tuomas Välimaa.
La alineación actual de Somehow Jo está integrada por Christian Sauren en guitarra y voz, Eero Aaltonen en bajo y voz, Sakari Karjalainen en guitarra, Lassi Peiponen en batería y Tuomas Honkkila en teclados.
