En una reciente entrevista Eclectic Arts, Rob Barrett, guitarrista de Cannibal Corpse, habló sobre la entrada de su amigo Erik Rutan a la banda. Te dejamos un extracto de la entrevista a continuación.

"Somos amigos desde hace mucho tiempo y siempre pensé que sería genial hacer algún tipo de proyecto con él algún día. Siempre he tenido este deseo en mente. Y ahora estamos juntos en la misma banda. ¡Sí, genial! No me intimida en absoluto. Lo respeto como guitarrista y creo que trabajamos bien juntos. Respeto mucho sus opiniones, él respeta las mías. Así que creo que ambos nos beneficiaremos de tocar en la misma banda, porque nos respetamos. Agregaré que entre los dos definitivamente es el mejor guitarrista, no me da vergüenza decirlo. Esa es la forma en que está. Ambos tenemos diferentes cosas que ofrecer. No soy el mejor guitarrista, pero creo que mi punto fuerte es escribir canciones. Y ahí es donde entro yo."

Erik Rutan (nacido el 10 de junio de 1971) es un músico estadounidense de death metal y productor de Nueva Jersey. Dirige Hate Eternal en voz principal y guitarra y actualmente está tocando para la banda de death metal Cannibal Corpse 1​durante su gira de 2019. También ha pasado tiempo con Morbid Angel (tres períodos diferentes) y Ripping Corpse. Cuando no se presenta, Rutan opera su propio estudio de grabación en Florida llamado Mana Recording Studios.
